Bart Woodley
Bart trained for two years for his job as a certified facility dog through PAALS, Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services. Per PAALS, "a facility dog helps professionals who work with people with disabilities. The professional may work in education, counseling, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, ministry, etc. These dogs may serve as innovative teaching tools, motivation, therapy catalysts, rewards for achieving goals, and unconditional love."
Bart is five years old and has been working with patients for 3 1/2 years. He is always excited to meet new people and greet old friends, and he loves to be involved in therapy activities whenever possible and practically. When not at work, Bart lives with Damon, his handler, and his family and loves spending his time playing with his houseful of toys with his "brother" Ross, who is also a PAALS-trained facility dog who works in education with Damon's wife.
