Education:
Beth's journey in healthcare began at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Psychology in 1987. Following her passion for helping others, she pursued a Post Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, graduating in 1991. In 2018, she furthered her education by completing a Master’s in Healthcare Quality and Safety, again at Thomas Jefferson University.
Certifications:
Throughout her career, Beth has pursued advanced certifications to enhance her skills and better serve her patients. She is a longstanding member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and has been certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) since 1991. Her certifications also include Fall Prevention Specialist, Community Engagement Health Literacy Specialist, and Certified Geriatric Specialist.
Professional Experience:
Beth's professional journey has been rich and diverse. She has served as a Staff Occupational Therapist specializing in brain injury and outpatient hands therapy in New Jersey. Her experience extends to supervisory roles in skilled nursing facilities, where she played a pivotal role in establishing sub-acute departments during the early 1990s.
In her management and directorial capacities, Beth's impact has been transformative. She spearheaded the development and staffing of the rehabilitation department at a New Jersey Specialty Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), focusing on mechanically ventilated and medically complex patients. Her pioneering work included the formulation of policies, procedures, and best practices in a rapidly evolving field.
Beth's commitment to patient experience and safety is evident in her initiatives. She initiated programs bringing together discharged patients, families, and staff for healing discussions, emphasizing the importance of the patient journey beyond treatment. She also led the creation of a Safe Patient Handling Committee, prioritizing staff education and patient care safety.

Beth's contributions to Occupational Therapy have earned her recognition and accolades. She was selected for the prestigious MUSC David and Kathryn Cole BRIGHT Leadership Cohort and has presented at national forums, including the AOTA National Convention and Lung Expo Seminar, on topics such as Early Mobility in Ventilated Patients.
